Our Background
Payne Spencer Harris Financial Advisers launched in 2020 in response to the success of JP Mortgages and our desire to meet our growing client base’s need for wider financial advice.
After starting his career at JPMorgan Chase more than ten years ago, founder director James Payne launched JP Mortgages in 2017 to bring an open and transparent approach to supporting clients with their mortgages.
Along with long term business partner Willam Harris, James has expanded the business from the success of JP Mortgages to offer clients a wider portfolio of advice. Services from Payne Spencer Harris includes pensions, investments, and insurance advice as well as a continued dedication to excellent mortgage advice.
Payne Spencer Harris is based in Poole and has clients across the UK.

James Payne
Director, Financial Adviser
James started JP Mortgages wanting to focus on exceptional customer service, having worked in a corporate broker environment he felt there was a real need out there for a better level of service. He has worked in the finance industry for more than a decade, achieving his qualification ‘Certificate Mortgage Advice & Practice’ (CeMAP) in October 2007.
Having played rugby for both his local side and Bournemouth, James is now restricted by injuries (and age) to the side lines – but you will find him at most Bournemouth home matches, cheering his old team on.

Willam Harris
Director, Financial Adviser
Will is a CeMap qualified mortgage and protection advisor, he has been a in the industry for over 7 years and is experienced with regards to all aspects of the property sector. You can expect 100% transparency, great communication and availability.
Will is a major sports fan especially football, rugby and Formula 1. He also has the rare – and useless – talent of being able to name every Formula 1 world champion. Will is planning his retirement for when his son becomes the next Lewis Hamilton.
